Anyone else notice the Inverted 3 line 110 in like new condition that's about to go off on the Bay?

It seems to have drawn good interest. So the question is how rare is this stamp? I don't recall seeing one before.

it is very rare! i have heard of only half a doz or less..
watch for a bidding rumble!
deepest pockets will win!
jest dont think it will be me... :(

Six known examples...:eek::eek::eek:
Well then, I'd say your right about the rumbling.
The bidding has just got started.

6 is all i know of off the top of my head..
likely there are more that i dont know of..
as buck sway finds out with his questions a lot..
i dont know every thing about 110's or 112's!
jest enught to be wrong only about half the time..
thanks ;)

WOW... This is going to be fun to watch. I sure don't have to worry about bidding :(

Just so you guys have an opportunity to see a REAL mint three line inverted 110. This one has never been used at all.

Darn,nice 110 Mike.Since I don't know.Why are the 3line inverted 110's so rare?Where as the same stamping say in a 100series is not?Early 1972.DM

The only thing I can guess is someone decided very early on that the run should have the 110 stamp and switched before more than a few were created. I'm not really sure how many inverted three liners were made, only that is was a small number.

Thanks Mike.Makes sense.Creating a situation like a LE only very limited. Like the club knives,150-200 tops.I've only seen very few of those an not for sale.Whereas I seen an bought several of the 100 series, 3line inverted.DM

there are other unintentional 'LE' issues
the 4 scale rivet ones
the is the 2003 with the year mark on the back
the 2006 (7?) with no year mark
the 92 with dubble dashes
and there are a few with a dot under the ^ 88 year mark

and i jest remembered!!
there are a few 110's out there with NO blade stamp at all!!!
these dont show up much as folks with them dont know they are buck 110's!

Inverted MUST be rare.
I have a Buckmaster 184 INVERTED and a Buck/Strider also inverted. Joe H told me in his 20 plus years at Buck he has never seen a inverted 184. Usally they never leave the facory. I hope one of you 110 buckoholics win it.

And don't forget the inverted two liner stamped on the back side.

I just went through all my inverts, bummer, all two liners... :(:D

334dave has some.He displayed them at Buck's 20yr. reunion.I did as well and George Steinzel had several displayed.DM

Dave,

You need to thank my forgetful memory on that one. I was zeroed in on it and forgot about it last night or rather fell asleep in my chair or something. You got that cheap!!
Good for you.

Geeze Dave, I suspect the seller took complaints from ebay and other active bidders for closing that auction early with active bidders. I know I was on the watch list waiting to bid and was pretty disappointed when it got closed early.

Just curious how you got the seller to close it early?
