Investors eco hawk deal

Question brother vec? Any chance the designer will try something more traditional in shape with this same idea at some point? The tac idea is awesome but gotta tell you a more hatchet/axe shape/outline is gonna get a lot less negative attention when we go strapping them outside of packs and go-bags. Sure like to see it some day. Just puttin ideas in your yer head for the future lunacy of the humble hawk project! Best wishes. Anrkst

if i can, i'll make some other heads with a different silhuette, definitely, brother. there are a couple Poll Versions, plus others.

i think this is the most flexible of the Minimalist Series i designed though, hence, it is the first in production. the opthers will be more zone-specific to parts of the world, by a small degree over the ECO .

the beauty of this ECO HAWK system though is you don't have to have it on the outside of your pack where folks know you have it. - it is covert until you take it out of its small belt bag and quickly mount it on a branch, or a supplied handle, etc. (the branch doesn't have to be split to be effective - we will show that ASAP.)

oh! i almost forgot - we are making a limited series of vectorized Fast Axes that oughtta fit the bill nicely for you.

just contact my Erica if you wanna get on the heads-up when it is ready to debut - she'll put you on the Fast Axe Wish List.

ericag@equinoxcoronado.com

most importantly - thanks for the input, brother.

You the man Vec! (you the wo-man too Erica!) I saw a vision in my head of a traditional shaped blade side and a digging spike on the other...like one might see on a pick axe or mattock..I need to stop! I'm starting to drool!

That is EXACTLY what I am wanting. I've been mulling over how to change that spike shape into, what would for me be, a more useful trenching spike or adze design. Frankly, The 2 uses I have for a tool that can be swung in manner to deliver a good bit of force to a given area are the wood chopper and the digging tool (trenching, cat holing, dakota fire pit, etc...)

remember, brother - and we are taking a lot of time showing off these aspects, ...but one can flip the head upside down, so the edges are pointing UP from the haft. - this will allow some combatives advantages and be "hand friendlier" than with the edges down, if you don't have anything as a hand stop arranged, etc. - while still giving you a chopping bit, and a great digging bit as is, with the ECO in stock condition.

the edges up mode can be very nice for peening too, i reckon.

but forgoing the leaving-it-stock option, personal mods could really get interesting too.

i think i need more than one for my personal stash now...:thumbup:....

...

i've been thinking (scary, right) ...i can't see why you couldn't mount the ECO at a right angle on the end of a stick or haft, for a modified adze.

things that make ya go "HMMMMMmmmm."

we just got word more ECOs will be available to us.

you know what to do, brethren, if ya want in on the Pre-Sale for the next ECOs.

ericag@equinoxcoronado.com

i think we are going to offer some TOPS accessories for the ECOs for a screaming value. talk to my Erica and give her your ideas too - she loves to hear from you and get that feedback TIA.

anyways,

i am starting to absolutely love these things.

stand by for more pics.

Am I being carried over from the old list?

if you are already on it, you betcha, brother.

sorry for any confusion.

my Erica handles all the lists.

anyone who hasn't e-mailed her and let her know they want to be included on the deal, please go ahead and contact her with the email previously provided, which is also in my signature line.

........

i gave the ECO a hardcore workout today gutting and destroying a mattress box spring that some bastard left on my property, and the ECO did fantastic in my opinion.

- and what a relief. - thinkin' up a good idea is always different from how it really performs, after all... - 'nice to see the two things merge fairly well.

- i'll get around to posting some pictures. - i did a lot of experimenting with how to haft the ECO on an average homemade haft too, and i really was happy with what i learned.

i think folks will be pleased with theirs.

we will have to see.

thanks again.

WHAT????

7.1 ounces !!!!

That's it you got me at 7.1 ounces.

My Victorinox Trekker is 5.5 ounces
It would make a perfect pair for under a pound.

Alright Vec, the post office finally gave me my ECO hawk (package said it arrived last Wednesday -- so I could have played with it on my long weekend -- but they didn't make it available for pickup until this morning).

Didn't get to use it too much, but I like it. Cool little bit of goodies that come with it.

Only real use of it so far was to open the box of wool blankets I got in today. Got some weird looks at the post office tearing apart the big banana box they came in, but it makes a heck of an improvised knife. Juuuuust big enough that my gorilla hands don't quite overlap the blades when held as a knife.

Had a real strong desire to throw it, but that didn't go over well last time, so i restrained myself. . .

yeah, sometimes the USPS people get a little jumpy when i do that too....

good to see that they are starting to arrive to the brethen.

the game is afoote.

Vec, I sent a message to erica but I bet you keep her SO busy that she hasnt gotten a reply out yet! Would you mind defining what the "fast axe" is? I've got a plan to add a new tool to my rig but I want all the facts. Just a brief description and some idea of lenght and weight. Thanks in advance..best regards Anrkst

maybe you need to check your e-mail settings, brother. Saint Erica answers all her stuff immediately.

i just got spanked for selling on this thread, so i am a little panicky about what i am allowed to say here, frankly. - i thought i was doing my friends a favor by giving them first chance. sorry. thanks, mods, for letting me keep the thread up.

i'll PM you and try to sort this out, brother Anrkst6973.

i'll change my signature picture and add some webpages or something on my home site.

Vec- Curious if you have any of those ECO hawks left?

a bunch are coming in as we speak, brother, thanks for your interest.

i can't turn this into a sales thread - please contact my Erica, and she'll get ya on the Wish List and tell ya about the new included accessories.

........

on perhaps a more-informative note;

i've been using my ECO a lot as a knife lately. dang thing was supposed to be a hawk head primarily - har...!

(although i noticed that i really like the tanto/spike used as a knife while on the haft, sort of like a one-handed draw knife.)

i might have to bring the edge thinner, but i like it the way it is for General Purposes. it's tough.

i think these things have a little bit of potatoe chip black magic stirred into the alloy.

tough to have just one, for me at least.

even Saint Erica couldn't resist. - she's cuttin' in on my overhead grabbing one for herself - lucky i have a soft spot for cute wives with knives ...especially when i am not in too much trouble...

Just a note, I've found that if you mount the head to a haft "upside down" -- i.e. with the edge ont he tanto spike facing out, you can brace the thing on your neck, and use the head as a knife to cut fuzz stocks and stuff without dismounting the head.

good feedback, thank you, brother.

i hadn't had a chance to try that yet.

that mounting configuration has some obvious combatives and digging advantages too, while still allowing a good chop.

i still want to try the ECO out in adze-configuration.

that could be interesting.
