iPhone 4G? Yes or No

I'm not pre-ordered but am ready for a upgrade.

Any reason to not get the new iPhone? I know all about the flash problem still NOT being solved... or rather "Apple's hate for flash" problem...

Whatever, I love my 16gb 3G and skipped the 3Gs because I was waiting for the 4G.. It's about here and I like the better camera, HD video the 32gb harddrive and the metal shell ( I liked my metal 1G shell so much better then the plastic 3G...)

I have the apps, just wondering if there is any BIG reason to skip this one and wait for the "slightly improved" iPhone in a year or so...


HD video in a cell phone... WOW who would of thought that? :D
 
I'm all over this one, once all the craziness is died down a bit. It is going to be a big improvement over my 16gig 3G.
 
Yes sir. Took me 4 hours (at work of course) to get through on ATT's website but I finally got my pre order in for the 32 gig. It'll be my first iphone and who knows when it will actually show up, but I sure am looking forward to it.
 
Yup. Always gotta skip a generation. The 3g was an improvement on the first, then minor changes in the next generation, and then BAM we get everything we could have asked for in a phone for the 4th generation.
 
yep ill be trying to pick one up...missed the pre order but i am planning just to camp out on the 24th at an att store to try to snag one:D
 
I am due for an upgrade this august, but am debating between Ipone4 and Droid Incredible. I'll have to wait until it comes out and do some serious comparison shopping.
 
Current iPhone 3GS owner here. Make sure to check out Android and other smart phones that are available at Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile before you commit to the purchase. I've heard that the newer 'droids have some significant advantages over the iPhone...that said, have fun shopping!
 
I'm already happy enough with my "shitty" 8 gig iphone...It's already all the phone I need. I hate apple more than ANYONE out there. But the iphone is perhaps the greatest phone ever. However my brother is jumping all over the new Iphone so I'm sure it's worth it.

+1. I am using my 1st gen 8g as I type this and have no complaints (well no gripes:) ). I am using it on tmobile and the phone is fully tricked out ( lovethe fact that the lockscreen has everything that I need, + SMS messaging, video recording, etc.).
 
Happy iPhone 3Gs owner. I will definitely order the 4G after the hoopla has died down. My iPhone is indespensable. Apple and Google need to prevail on making HTML5 the new web standard over Flash so I can have access to more streaming video and/or encourage more sites to include the open source H.264 format that Apple devices can already read. It's already improving steadily and I think Flash will eventually become relegated to second tier technology. Not having real 4G technology isn't that big a deal right now. My 3Gs is plenty fast. The Hi-Res screen sounds great and the 200,000 apps availabe pretty much fill all my needs from printing from my iPhone to accessing my home computer remotely.

Lastly, Apple's hardware just can't be beat and their warranty is fantastic. My 18 month old 24 in. iMac recently went ka-flooie (first Mac to have a problem in 15 years) and Apple replaced it (free) with an upgraded new 27 in. top of the line iMac that doubled the tech specs in my old Mac: quad core processor, double the hard drive capacity (TB) and the top of the line (512 MB GDDR3) graphics card. What's not to like about Apple?
 
lol ill stick with my free celly from verizon.. i dont facebook or match.com or shit like that. so i save my $$.. out of curiosity do most of you buy that stuff to be "in" and "cool" or is it a work necessity? serioulsy just a curious question.
 
I'm not gonna tell you to do it or not. I will, however, mention that it will be at least 2012 before AT&T has a functional 4G network in place, and at that it will probably only be in select cities. I'll bet you can get a much sweeter phone if you wait until then.

The Iphone 4 is not 4G, it is a misnomer when people refer to the Iphone 4 as the Iphone 4G, it is the Iphone 4th Generation. Not 4G as in 4G service

That being said it looks like a fantastic device and I have 2 on pre-order

dont be stupid. wait for it to come out then wait another 6 months and watch the price of the phone drop like a rock. I been out of my contrack for about 6 months now. the brand new ones dont do any thing that my two year phone does not do now so why buy a new one and start another two year contrack all over again for????

I have to have a cell phone so why not carry one that is a cell phone, is a mp3player, as real internet (not that WAP stuff,) as a 5mp camera, as HD video, can play YouTube, and is also a great gaming device?

Really what's not to like?

the droids are getting pretty good but IMO apple is always one step ahead of everyone when it come to this kind of stuff!!! as for me i have my phone reserved for pickup on thursday!!:D
 
Even with my old iPhone, I can type this post while outside watching the kids play, play some classic rock, and shoot a quick video of the kids playing... Send that video via email to my mom so she can see the grand kids across the country seconds after he video is recorded.

Then I can catch a call from Mrs So-Lo because she wants to hear how the kids are doing... Then receive a "private picture" text from her seconds later... :D

Then hop on and see what the weather is going to be for tomorrow.

Set my alarm for work, get reminded of the CC bill that is due, hop on their site and pay that... Screen shot he con# for our records and email it to myself for storage.

I could go on and on..... it's NOT to be "cool" or "in." :cool:

in fact after that post, surfed on over to my sale threads, saw that two are now sold... Opened the paypal app, see the money is recieved. :thumbup:

Sent emails back to both saying thanks for the speedy payment...

Then tapped the app store to see what's on sale or free today.. Seen "tilt to live" is free, and seen Both Need for speeds have went from $9.99 to .99

Downloading my .99cent Need for Speed Shift now :D

Then tomorrow I know I'll use the TomTom app for a few stops... :thumbup:



Let's see your free phone do that :D :p
