From what I can tell this has not been done in a while.

I recently broke down and purchased one of these new fangled devices and have been searching the interwebs for good apps. So far I have come up with the following, so far all free, apps. In no particular order.

PanoLab - Creates large panoramic pictures by stitching together muliple images
Convert Units - Like the title says
Facebook - Access Facebook
To Do's - Simple to do list app that has importance levels and task details
Pandora - Free internet radio
Chipotle - Gets my fix faster, finds closest store and order online
Flixster - Movie trialers, reviews, theater locations and buy tickets
Shot Timer - Allows timing when shooting at the range
ShopSavvy - Scans barcodes and compares prices localy and on the web
Urban Spoon - Finds restaraunts according to location, genre and price
Epicurious - Find recipes and create shopping lists
Open Table - Find restaraunts and make reservations
Documents - Light editing of word and excel documents
iHandy Level - Simple bubble level

Thats what I have found, have yall found any good apps that you recomend?

Stuff I've found that's useful (free app unless noted otherwise):

Around me - great for finding something nearby.
Mapquest - much better than the google engine built in I've found
AIM - free instant messaging
Redlaser - for $2-3, lets you scan barcodes and compare prices online. Saves a ton of time and money for the typical consumer.
Appbox pro - for $1 you get a lot of misc. apps, levels, converters, etc.
Cardstar - carry digital copies of any membership card on your iphone with scannable bar codes
Amazon - If you like amazon.com, this is for you
mywireless AT&T - check your usage and pay bills hassle free online.
Shazam - record a music sample to find the song
Tracker lite - enter your tracking numbers for shipped items to track packages
ESPN scorecenter - great utility for checking out games
The weather channel - up to date info on the weather

Google Earth
The Weather Channel
Geocaching, if you like treasur hunting
Tidegraph for tracking tide times
Knotguide Great Knot tieing guide
USA Today
ABC News
Public Radio I like NPR

add those in

Unit Converter
Clinometer
Pocket First Aid
Darkness (sunrise, sunset, other astronomical date around the world.)
Bible
Dictionary
America (Historical Documents, Locations, Speeches etc.)
I don't play games but have a few to entertain kids.

I really like touchpad, it turns the whole screen intot big wireless trackpad. I also like iStat and VNC. I think they are all $0.99.

hmmmm let's see

Slacker Radio - very similar to Pandora, but much better, bigger library, more customization
Paper Toss - simple but addicting game, tossing a wad of paper into a trash can
Flashlight - simply turns your screen white to use as a flashlight, pretty useful with your brightness all the way up.
Rock Band - pretty good adaptation of the console version, kinda pricey at $10 but a lot of fun if you like those types of games

There are tons of great ones but those are some of the ones that I use on a regular basis

I will add one more I am very keen on. It's curiously mis-named. It's called IAmSafe. Activate this app and you will be given five seconds to cancel it before it:

A) Sends e-mail and text messages to five people you pre-programmed
B) Begins tracking your location and movements and transmitting those data to a server
C) Begins recording the audio around you and transmitting that in seven-second increments to that same server
D) Opens a website where the five people mentioned before can go and see your location and movement and listen to the audio (the URL and password are included in the e-mail sent to these people)
E) Preserves the tracking and audio data until you delete them (the server is off-shore)

It turns your iPhone into an emergency beacon.

Obviously, there are limitations to it. If you go out of coverage, it won't work. But it's a lot less expensive than an EPIRB. But, to tell the truth, despite their prices, EPIRBs have their limitations too. Like anything, you need to understand the tools you have.

Check out the the 50 greatest Iphone apps on Time.com.

Just got mine on Tuesday. It really is the coolest thing I have ever owned.

I've just got an iPod, but if you like drawing there are a number of good apps; I like "Layers", but "Brushes" is almost the same thing.
You can draw, paint, etc.
iBooks gives you a book-reader, and you can get the Kindle software as well.
I don't find reading from the little screen to be annoying at all...

Scanner911 ... I don't have PARANOID tattooed on my knuckles for no reason.
