iPod Touch

He probably wants the iPod Touch because it's complimentary to his cell phone. Gives him all the music and Apple Apps and saves his cell phone's battery life by not burning up phone time. The iPhone has a few nicer features than the Touch though. Better screen, much much better cameras, GPS for Apps, and 3G internet connectivity.
 
The IPAD and NetBooks are a better option for me. I want a little more screen real estate for web browsing without the bulk of my laptop. Music ... MP3 players are dirt cheap.

Yeah, but this is techno kid. He has an Alienware laptop that he lugs around everywhere. If he actually needed to do anything he can use the laptop. I think this is just for fun.
