Sarge mentioned he was supporting the 4th Infantry. Their equipment has opted for a long, luxurious cruise as we negotiate with Turkey:

(The NY Times is a free subscription site. I don't know if this link will let you access the article directly or not)

A link from the BBC with similar information, but doesn't specifically mention units:

Also, I recently ran across an interesting article in the Atlantic Monthly, Nov. 2002. It's pretty long and deals mostly with the flyboys dropping bombs in Afghanistan, but there are some good parts about the Forward Air Controllers - guys on the ground telling them where to park their ordinance. If I remember correctly, one of the HI aficionados in Sarge's unit had this job.

(edited to add BBC link)

It's a very, very, complex state of affairs. The Turks are our friends, but most of them don't want a war. If we do get to go there we'll definitely have to stay on our toes and mind our manners, or we could make a tense situation worse. This, and the UN's footdragging are extremely frustrating, Saddam is buying time at our expense. We don't want a war either, no sane person does, but if military action is what's required to disarm Saddam's regime, you can bet it's going to happen one way or another.

They're called GFACs (ground forward air controllers) since some air strikes are still carried out with overwatch from helos, UAVs, etc.
Yup, got a bunch of 'em in the unit, good guys, highly motivated. More'n a few of 'em are packing blades you guys donated, either from this time around, or from our trip to Afghanistan.
