I did this when the Tobys knife first came out and I'd like to get the iris in some hands to experience as well, should I be able to order another i was wondering if anyone would sign up for a passaround with it?

this would happen, probably, in June. Anyone game?

Rules and requirments

You can see the forum rules for this HERE

But here is the general idea
-You will be required to ship priority with insurance (insuring it for $165) and appropriate packaging to get it to the next passaround participant
-You must pass it on in a timely (1 to 2 weeks) manner
-The knife is to be put to regular use
-You are required to take at least one picture and share your thoughts in the passaround thread here on the Jk forum or somewhere else on the internet that you can then link in the passaround thread so we can all enjoy it
-You have to be legally allowed to own and use a knife where you live
-Jk knives nor I are responsible if you get hurt or damage anything, you are :(

I`m predicting that once you handle this model, you will be ordering one for yourself, it`s designed that well. I think it just may outsell the best selling model of 2013, the Toby`s Knife!

these videos are terrible, just so you know, but I was excited to get going with it then my camera died before i could make them better, still, thought I'd share them anyway (brave, hun?) :p

Thanks, John, I figure they'l be getting out of bed from their Sunday morning snoozes soon and signing up, so i just added the rules and requirements to the original post as well :p

I've never participated in a pass around. I really like the looks of this knife, so count me in!

Thanks for the opportunity to try before you buy.

The Iris Knife should really come with a warning label, "Do Not Handle, Because You Will Want One!" I know I`m going to have one, but mine will be 1/8" thick, just my preference.

I'm willing to take the chance. Please, count me in.

thanks, you're on the list.

Since it's not built (or ordered ;)) yet i'm also open to scales suggestions, I'm thinking zircote, ebony, maple burl, liners...maybe. Any thoughts?

walnut is awesome :D

I've found another use for my little choil-y thing!

helping to sit your iris knife on top of a cup of tea for a picture!

If there's room, I think I'd like to try this guy out. Don't worry Peter, I tossed the steel batoning test pipe in the garbage when we moved. :)

Pretty sure this JK can stand up to the "not-so-ripe apple baton" test as well as the dreaded "stick carving and feathering" exercise.

:) look forward to seein the results, thanks!

Nice videos by the way. Can't tell if it has finger jimping/thumb serrations or whatever you want to call it on top of the spine at all. Does it?

Nope "jimping" thought i beleiev John can add them if requested
