Heads up!
Saw copfish's post about someone dialing up www.fe3stone.com for Spyderco products, and it reminded me that Charlie had asked me to post this some time ago, and I forgot.. (blonde!)
Ironstone will soon become Spyderco Factory Direct, and the changes they are trying to do over there are overwhelming. Please be patient while they convert everything over, including their website, which is out of commission right now. They are still taking phone calls, although sometimes answers are slow to surface, they just have too much to do, and not enough hands to do it. Add to that the huge Spyderco Seconds Sale this weekend, and you can see why things are balled up.

If anyone is within driving distance of Golden Colorado, please plan to stop by on Saturday, and get some good deals...(I'll be there) I heard last year the lines were out the door an hour before opening!
Thanks in advance for your patience, if you dont feel you're getting the attention you all so richly deserve trying to get ahold of Ironstone, please call or write me. (I have a few connections there.) I will let you know when the bugs are worked out. BTW, their phone number is 1-800-828-1925.

Make it a great day!
Danelle

ARGHHHHHHHHHHH..........
times like these, I sure wish I'm living in the States instead of halfway around the world...

They don't happen to have any online catalogs for the seconds, do they?

hehehe...

Heck, I thought they were always a factory outlet, especially when they were across the street. They've always got the newest Spyderco custom knives, and consequently have too much of my money. How are things going to change? As it is now I can't drive to Boulder without my car making an unintended hard left...

Danelle,
Will Spyderco factory direct retain the current Ironstone exclusives? Did you get the Photo that I sent? Tell Joyce thanks for the care package.

Bobby

Danelle,

I knew I'd heard something

! Now I am glad I didn't make it down last weekend.

Please post the hours for that Saturday sale (e.g. what time it starts) I'm looking at driving down friday night now.

Any hints on directions coming in on 85 would also be appreciated

Dang! I wonder if my wife would understand... No, better not chance it.

bald1: our 'seconds sale' will begin @ 7:30 am. i'll be there around 5:30 to begin setting up. usually, customers begin to line up for this event aroud 6:00 am (don't worry, i'll have plenty of coffee). we also have lots of closeout merchandise from benchmade, sog, boker, ect. as far as spyderco merch, we have quite a variety (delicas, police models, civillians, crickets, ect).

regarding changes to the way we do business, we'll only carry the following: spyderco, g. saki, moki, solo & 3 custom knives: randall (which we added in early may), chris reeve, & owen wood (this is the gentlemen who runs our prototype shop, his work is breathtakingly beautiful!). we'll also be doing more factory tours, tours of owen's prototype shop, where you'll be able to watch him working on prototypes & his custom knives. we'll also be doing monthly events (no schedule yet, give me 2-3 weeks) @ the shop free for our customers. currently, our ideas include: sal & owen doing a forging demonstration, owen performing a damascus demonstration, in-depth discussions on steel types & properties, wilderness medicine, & possibly some self-defence classes. all of these will be held on saturdays (for those of you who wish to travel). i'll keep you posted on exactly what dates/times for the events as soon as i can. regarding exclusives, we will continue to offer a number of exclusives & discontinued models (ie c24 blackhawks, which i still have a few of). i know danelle mentioned this, but i really appreciate everyone's patience with ironstone/spyderco factory outlet regarding this rollover. it's taken quite a lot of work to make sal's vision of a factory outlet into a reality, but once its done...like disneyland for knife people. well, off to the shop. i hope to see some of you this weekend.

I like my women like I like my knives: strong, sharp, well-formed and pattern-welded!

Charlie...
Your game plan sounds fantastic. I will be coming and glad to hear you'll be there at "oh-dark-thirty" as that may be about the time of my arrival. If I get there a bit earlier I'll probably catch a few winks in your parking lot.

Danelle,
I'll call for directions tommorrow. Thanks!

Danelle -- will Ironstone/Spyderco Factory Direct eventually provide customization services (aka Custom Shop) for Spydies?
