Here is a forged 1084 ironwood handled everyday carry knife I finished up this evening. I will be sending it to its new owner tomorrow. The blade is 4 1/4" lond with a 3 1/2" cutting edge. The overall length is 8 1/4". The knife rides in a tooled leather horizontal sheath.

Nice lines - I like the design of the handle a lot - looks comfortable.

Cheers,

Roger

That's cause he was hiding it from you, ya Ironwood lovin' Bastid!;) :D

The handle on this one is designed to lay the thumb right on top of the handle and let it slide into the top of the guard. It provides a secure grip on the smaller style handles. I also left the top guard low enough so it is possible to choke up on the ricasso for delicate work

Mongo,
You have the Ironwood lovin Bastid part right! :)
The more I use ironwood the more I find love the subtle textures that comes out of the woods pattern as you finish sanding it!

Dan,
You did see it when you were up here. The blade was finsh ground but not handsanded. It was with the group that the kerambits were in. It looks a little different now though! :)

Actually I was calling Danbo a ironwood lovin' bastid!;)
That sure is one good looking knife you made there. The wood is superb and I like the shape of the blade and handle together. You need to keep posting your stuff, because everything I'm seeing is fantastic! Do you happen to have a pic of the sheath lying around for this knife? I'm finding this size of blade, in the range of 2&3/4" to 4&1/2" is a great EDC size. I personally prefer a slightly canted horizontal sheath for these.
Hope to see you and Danbo at the Badger show this spring... and bring a sister and brother to this one! (got any stag? sheephorn?)
Mongo

That is a nice little knife.., and I'd also like to see the sheath when it's convenient. Nice work!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get the pics of the sheath up here. The knife will ride at a slight cant to horizontal.

Mongo,
I do have have stag and sheep horn for the brothers and sisters to this one. This one is becoming a hot style for me and I have been making a quite a few in this style.

I thought the knife was gorgeous, but with that sheath, what a beautiful pairing. I love the way you shaped the knife's handle too. It looks really user friendly.

Great work!

All the best,
Mike U.
