This is one of Don Hanson III's JS test knives from Atlanta 2005, a truly a unique piece.
It is 16.125" overall, and the steel is 1060 with a clay temperline.

I am planning on acquiring one of Don's MS test knives in Atlanta 2007, so I have no choice, but to part company with one of these beauties. Don's knives with exotic handle materials routinely sell for $2,000+, however, because the handle on this one is merely exhibition grade Ironwood, it is available for...

Peter forgot to mention, this is the only integral I've ever made. Although an integral looks pretty simple, they are very difficult to make. This is a good price, if I make another along these lines, it will cost more.

Is the white handle ivory?? I'm in love with that one!!! :D Now THAT'S a bitchin' Bowie!!

Yes, more! I sell steel on the side cause I'm a nice guy and want you other makers to use good steel :) (W2 for those who don't know, listed in the knifemaking supply area)

aggiejason, The other bowie handle is ivory with blued steel fittings.

To add a my 2 cents into this... I handled this bowie when Don first showed it at the ECCKS in NY a couple of years ago. This is one of those instances where the photo, even though it's a Coop photo, doesn't do the knife justice. It's an amazing knife. If I remember correctly, the hamon is more visible than the photo shows, and the ironwood also is has more figure/contrast than the photo captures.

1,000+ hits, or as Jimmy Buffet would say "Fins to the right, Fins to the left"
