I purchased this on the bay recognizing it to be a custom ordered knife from buck.
Trouble is no box no paperwork. Advertised as IRONWOOD and is a $47.00 option upgrade over ebony.

I don’t know however that these are ebony still. In which case I will return unopened to seller.
Any help with pics, good pics but still pics.
My sense says there is a grain difference and the customizer on bucks website helps, but these look better than ebony but not same as ironwood pictured on the Buck customizer.

I guess I should know better, experts here I am sure can explain how not to be ‘fooled’.

IronWood or Ebony? Link shows both sides vs Photo below, to see more wood! LOL

Doesn't look like either to Me?
I'm not an expert, but I have both woods on knives....

Thank you Lambertiana,

I did not know the correct words to describe Ironwood. That one word hits the nail on the head for sure.

Now if the OP will take his knife into the sunlight and post the photos for all of us to enjoy. Can you do that for us jftman?

Knife has nice wood grain with some chatoyance to my eye in hand. A little hard though seeing in a pic.

An interesting thing you see with ironwood is that the darker stripes are more wear resistant and stand out a little from the lighter stripes.
