Irresponsible Behavior

So a few weeks ago right around Blade Show, twice in two weeks I missed a chance to purchase a Large Regular BG42. In angry retaliation, I've expanded my CRK family with little thought or foresight in regards to my bank account.

Here's my happy little family as it was last week.

A Large Regular and a Large Insingo will complete my collection and I'll finally be able to rest my wallet...
... who am I kidding, that's a lie.
 
Yeah, I let a couple of Mnandi's slip by....very frustrating. Nice collection by the way!
 
Thanks guys! It's hard to stop. Every time I splurge, I can usually manage to control myself for a few months, then I start to itch. I got a fever, and the only prescription is more CRK! (or is that cowbell?)

Haha, thanks Nyefmaker. It is pretty impressive. Feels very solid. I'm probably gonna make another thread with my impressions and some questions. Hopefully you'll lend your expertise.
 
That's a sweet collection you have there. all you need now is a Startac to complete the WC line, a UG or CGG, and yes you need an inlay. I'm loving micarta inlays, oh and I forgot a Damascus CRK :)
 
Yeah, I want a pre-lbs startac though, so I'm gonna have to keep my eyes peeled. I might be tempted by a UG if I ever saw something super spectacular. The only inlays that I would really want would be mammoth ivory. I'd love a mammoth ivory mnandi with damascus.

I just bought my first CRK, a small 21, a month ago and I love it. The problem is that when I really, really like something I like to have a spare. So today I bought another small 21, this time with CF scales. I hope that will hold me for a while.
 
Sorry if it was me that got one of those you missed. At least it found a good home, and is in my pocket right now.
Don't give up. It took me a while to find that one, but they do come up.

I've had a BG-42 CGG Large Regular, and a plain small BG-42 Regular for a long time, but didn't start looking for a plain large BG-42 until a few months ago. Keep looking and you'll find one.

You have a very nice collection there !

Thanks guys! Ken44, I'm not sure, but don't worry, I managed to win one on ebay a couple days ago. I'll have to wait till I get it to see what steel it is.

Did you get the one were the guy said it was an early hand made from South Africa ?

I'm betting that one will be a regular production model from the late 90's, and will have BG-42.
I think they started using BG-42 in late 1996, and those from late 96 will have no date code.
Some in 1997 have the date and some don't. I have one large unmarked, and one small marked A97(first date used).
