I just sent a message to the 1 Stop Knife Shop this weekend, to verify what my final payment would be (since I was going to send in a money order) on a TOPS Tracker as they had it for less than anyone I'd seen. That was, after all, the reason I was going to buy it from them. I got no reply, but this morning when I checked the site, the price had climbed back up to retail. Now, maybe they were going to increase it anyway, but I found the timing awfully coincidental. I realize it's their priviledge to price their items how they like, but I would have appreciated at least a response telling me "that is no longer the correct price."
Anyway, nothing to be done about it, just venting. :grumpy:

First of all welcome to Blade Forums. This is a great community and I hope you enjoy it here at least as much as I do.

I am pretty sure and would hope that the price would be honored based upon the time you made the inquiry. (as long as their webmaster did not screw up.) Give them a chance and let us know how things work out.

I am going to move this to the Good, Bad and Ugly Forum where we talk about our good and sometimes bad experiences. I am pretty sure this one will be a good one given a little time.

This appears at the top of every page on 1sks.com:
Our office will be closed from Feb 14-16 while we attend the SHOT show. We will reopen Feb 18.
I wouldn't get too mad about someone not responding quickly when they tell you up front they won't be there...

Granted, but that means they probably weren't updating their site either. I just found it curious that it has been that price for a good while and changed on the morning that they would have read my message. Again, it's not that my life is now not worth living, it just irritated me a tad. On the flip side, I suppose there's the possibility that fate saw me about to get a great deal and said: DENIED!!!:p

There are people on the other end of the modem: Call them up and explain your plight, you might be happily surprised!

For heaven's sake.

Think about it. You don't really believe that out of a frenzied desire to extract what - $50 tops, probably less - someone there got your message, went 'aha' and raised the price, do you? I mean how stupid an act of customer relations would that be, do you think? Worth $50? I don't think so. Nor would they I'm quite sure. Not that store.

And in ANY event, you could use your message as a reference point. Or, even back out altogether if for some extraordinary reason they didn't see things that way, which they wont.

So relax. "Awfully coincidental"? Well how about the fact they were closing for four days due to the SHOT show. It may be neither of course, but out of that circumstance and receipt of your message, which would you consider to be the more likely explanation for a price change on that date?

All right all right all right....I admit it, I was seriously pissed off about something entirely unrelated yesterday and I suppose I was hollering at anything that didn't go my way. Everything you guys have said makes sense, and my own posts now come across very 'arguing to hear myself argue' to me now. If there are any 1sks representatives reading this, I'm sorry. To other customers, I'll admit that I haven't heard many others complain about them at all. To other forum members, please don't black-list me, as I'm usually not like that. In fact, to remove the potential smear on 1sks I'll request that one of the moderators remove my post. If there's some way for me to do it, someone will have to tell me.

You've apologized; I'd suggest leaving it at that. You do have the option of editing your posts (the "edit" button at the bottom of the post) but the replies will remain, and people who didn't see your posts before you edited them would wonder what you were covering up....

The moderators don't delete complaints here. If they're justified they should remain on the forum for anyone considering doing business with that company to see; if they're unjustified they should remain on the forum for everyone to see if the same person keeps posting unjustified complaints about everybody and his hamster.

I doubt anybody will hate you much over this, unless you make a habit of it.
