Is 1075/1080 a good knife steel?

As to 1075 / 1080 ABS Vice president Doug Neely told us that they are getting good results with this steel in the performace test of the ABS... if you are a fan of the ABS.. LOL

All of my 1095 and O1 is heat treated in a jury rigged charcoal forge powered by a hairdryer in the backyard, and I testify that the O1 is noticeably better in edge retention and toughness.

You don't need a fancy set up to do it right, just a bit of practice.
