Is a 15dps cutting edge the same as a 30 degree chisel grind cutting edge?

I can't seem to wrap my brain around this. I know that 15 dps is 30 degrees total but would there be the same amount of steel in the egde? Would one be thicker than the other?. Assume we are talking about he same blade steel and stock thickness.
 
Yes. They'd be the same thickness, but the chisel grind would have the total bevel geometry skewed 15° relative to the plane of the blade.
 
The same amount of steel would be removed, but the edge geometry would perform drastically different between the 2. The edge thinness would be the same.
