Is A G10 pocket clip going to survive well over time

I am looking at betting a really nice custom folder.... but it has a G10 pocket clip. Is that material strong enough for that kind of application??

G10 is pretty tough stuff, but I never had a pocket clip made out of it. I did have a Spyderco delica that had a integrated clip that was molded out of the same FRN as the handle. It broke after a couple years.

The only issue I would be worried about is the niche situation in which the pocket clip gets caught on an object or surface and is bent outwards. While a metal clip may bend, causing damage to the clip and possibly the knife itself, a G10 clip might splinter or fracture, creating a risk for wounds.

Never would have thought of a G10 pocket clip. I don't know that it would far any worse than the materials typically used. This has me wondering is there any sort of advantage to having a pocket clip in G10?

One of the Stedemon folders, the Sly has a g10 clip and thumbdisk. I felt like the thumbdisk would be fine but the clip would break.

Pocket clips can bend and be bent--back into shape. Quite forgiving. G10 on the other hand, may possibly snap or fragment if they get snagged or whatnot. I've seen carbon fiber clips just snap at the base...then again, I've had a metal Spyderco clip break at the screws too.

I would be concerned about retention, as well as breaking. I don't think I would care for a G-10 or CF pocket clip.
