Is a sodbuster still a sodbuster if...

Be careful with the German Eye brand. I bought what was supposedly a locking sodbuster and it turned out to have a clip-blade and bolsters on each end. I decided to keep it. Then after some use I noticed how poorly constructed the knife was.

o blade wobbles when folded
o blade rests on bottom when folded, dulling the blade
o scales are uneven and loose - risinig away from the knife
o when locked, the lock sits 1-2mm above the back of the knife

The blade takes an awesome edge but the fit and finish are horrible. I think I paid $60-$70. I really should have looked it over - it looked so cool at first... I tried to sell it in a garage sale for $5 and no one bought it.

Great Pics Man!

I think that is the one I was thinking of, must have been one on collectorknives.net withing the last year or so..

Nice pictures of that locking CASE, is it large size or did they do one in junior size too?

Rough Rider makes a locking DIRTBUSTER as they call it, I must have got a very poor one as it literally fell to bits in my hand when the pivot failed...so much for liner lock!

I'd like to ask why the Sodbuster pattern has that skinner blade? Surely clip would be more to US tastes/tradition and spear for European knives? Can a Sodbuster be a Sodbuster with other blade types anybody know?
