Is a SwissChamp to big to carry in your pocket?

Nope. I have both a champion plus which is the same thing except no pliers, and a workchamp which is bigger with no problem.
 
Personally I think any SAK over two layers is too thick for pocket carry. They work well with a belt pouch. An example would be the One Handed Trekker.
 
I find the SwissChamp slips perfectly into the 5th/coin/watch pocket on most of my jeans... this will depend on the brand/style though. I also don't have a problem carrying it loose in a regular or cargo pocket, but you do definitely notice the size and weight.
