Is anybody going to the Blade Show West in September?

I signed up for a booth at the coming Blade Show West in Portland a couple months ago. I was curious who else might be there this year. Is this going to be a big show? Or will a lot of you be going to Chicago like Bruce Bump said he is?

Those of you who have signed up for Blade West, have you been given a table number yet? I have watched the Blade Magazine site and have not seen a floor plan or anything yet. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place and someone can steer me in the right direction.

This will only be my 3rd knife show so any advice will be welcome. My booth will feature stabilized and natural burl blocks and scales. I could also bring big pieces of burl if anyone thinks that would be a good idea.

I am just a newbie so maybe you guys can give me some advice that will keep me from looking like a dumb one.

Thanks, Mark

Which knife show is the biggest in the Country? I'm not a fan of Oregon. I like Chicago though :) Oh and when is the Chicago show?

I saw a post by Bruce Bump that said Chicago was the same weekend as Portland Sep 11-13. He said he was going to Chicago.

I like Oregon. In fact, I think the WA and OR coasts and forrests are some of the most beautiful places on earth. :)

Just FYI. :)

Mark, I'm gonna go down for the day. Doubt I'll have a table, but it's too close to home, not to come down and visit with friends. :D

I wish I was going to be there! Moving to Oregon the week after the show... Dangit!

I've always liked BladeWest and always did well there and will miss my friends allot. I'm preparing for Chicago in advance and hope I made the right decision. Portland is way cheaper but I need to break from my old routine and get out to new shows. The Chicago Custom Show costs about $50 just to park your car but the collectors there are many. We will see if the small town boy can make it. I may be back to Portland next year with my tail between my legs.

Steve and Nick,
Stop by my booth and say hello.
Bruce, I hope you do great in Chicago. I am sure they will love your knives.

I think i'm going to try and be there, Wa is my real home any way and i have been trying to find an excuse to trag bubba-doll there to my my propery.

Has anyone seen a floor plan or been assigned a table number? A lot of the makers that went to the Atlanta show would have the table number listed on their websites and postings here on the forum. Does anyone know if the Blade West show people will assign our spots and give us the info for our own advertising?

Blade West is a small show and they have never published table or booth number assignments as far as I know and I've done all the Portland shows. They do have a "chart" you can find your table by when you get there. It's a small room and booth and table holders don't get lost like in the Atlanta BLADE show.
