I must say I love my southard. Its easily in my top 2 flippers and the only reason its not number one is because that usually is reserved for my latest purchase, lol. But I noticed that the southard was a pretty large departure from what I think of when I see a spyderco knife. I love it, but I have always thought many of the existing spyderco designs would do just as well with a flipper as well. The domino is exactly the knife Ive been hoping Spyderco was going to produce. Its much more "spydie". I have also heard they were focusing on making the action even smoother than the southard. Any one else chomping at the bit to handle one?

I AM!! I really like the idea of a flipper from spyderco but really don't like the southards blade shape. I love the leaf blade that the domino is sporting its badass looking. Im totally getting one at some point. and I know exactly what you mean by its more spydie like, that's what I wanted as well :D

I'm very very excited about the Domino. Its like a Titanium frame lock Manix 2 flipper! Perfect! I can't wait to get my hands on one and pimp/customize it!

I'll probably end up with at least 2 of them :) ...Hopefully :)

It's a good looking knife and like a good frame lock, but don't think I'll spring for the Domino. I'm sure it's great but flippers don't get me too excited.

It looks like a flipper version of the Manix 2 (like Shepard said :D)....which is great! But, at first glance I prefer a Southard. Might have to try one and just do a catch-and-release to see how it is in person. Otherwise, I'll just wait until finances stabilize and grab a new Southard when they get back in stock.

I've had mine preordered for months now. IMO it's going to be a great knife and for all of its premium features the price is pretty much in line.

It's actually quite nice.
I'm not much of a flipper fan myself, but I did notice how smooth it is & it's built well.
After a couple tries, even Bubbles was able to get it open fully in a hurry, and she has short fingers & bad thumbs. :)

I think it'll appeal.

Flippers are fun, but the Domino is way too expensive to get me excited about it.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. Knifecenter has the Domino listed for just $210. That's a hell of a bargain if it's anything like the Southard.

Blade HQ has the blade length listed at 3.13". It's closer to 3.5" correct? I need one. Regardless of the stupid scale

I'm looking forward to the Domino as well. I do love my Southard, but the Domino has a lot more of what I love about Spyderco knives. The Domino provides that great Spyderco leaf shaped FFG blade with a great blade steel, a more usable opening hole, and a better overall look than the Southard in my opinion.

I have a feeling that I'll be selling my Southard once I get a Domino.

Agreed, $210 is a fantastic price if this knife lives up to the standard set by the Southard. I would have liked to see them price it a little closer to the new ZT 0801 which is available for $190, I think they'd sell even more of them just out of principal if they could get them under the $200 mark, but in the end I think it will be well worth the money, whatever they end up going for.
