Is bigger better?

Evolute-

I apoligise if my response came off as demeaning. It wasn’t my intent. Your input and experience are most welcome to myself, and others.

...but I still go with the Tramp ;)

Evolute,
I'm guessing that you are referrimg to the new Fusion models. Would I be correct in that? Jerry said that the new SH was a monster in comparison to the SH-E.

Truck, I was referring to the Ergo line. To restate my comment:

"Keep in mind that the battle rat is six ounces lighter, and an inch shorter, than a battle mistress-e. In fact, it is three ounces lighter than a steel heart.-e."

I've not had a chance to use, weigh, or measure a Fusion model.

Normally when I hit the trail I've got a Steel Heart strapped somewhere. Having said this you would think the Camp Tramp would be a hands down choice for me but the truth of the matter is I like the way the Battle Rat balances better than the Tramp. I don't know why since it surprised me that I liked it better. I actually like the feel of the Battle Rat better then a Battle Mistress. I don't get it since the Steel Heart just may be my favorite knife of all time.
And anyway the BR isn't that much bigger really. It just seems to put the center far enough forward to make it a better chopper. These are just my thoughts if your blazing a trail. For normal hiking and camping where chopping is not your main activity the Tramp may be better suited just due to it being more efficient at the regular camp chores you most generally encounter. I know, I know it sounds like I just did a 180 but they are different tools for different tasks. I like the feel of the BR better but if I'm just camping I would opt for the CT. By the way, it will chop to. ;)
