Is blade straightness a common issue with Leeks?

I recently purchased a Kershaw Damascus Leek, and I noticed the blade was not centered. Closer inspection revealed that the blade looks more like it is just not straight, or bent. Has this been a common thing with Leeks?

Not that I know of. My composite Leek has an obnoxiously obtuse grind, but I'm 99% certain that's a fluke and not the norm.

If the blade is bent I suggest sending it back. That is if the place you bought it from has more in stock.

I have a blackwash Leek that has that same issue. Out of the 15 Leeks I own that was the only one that I have had an issue with. Never really bothered me as it performed fine and I bought it fairly cheap. However, it is not normal and I would think Kershaw would take care of you if you sent it back.

It is normal to see some warping from internal stresses in Damascus, it isn't normal to see a knife like this slip past kershaw's QC, if it bothers you send it in and kershaw will take care of you.

I have the worst luck with stuff like this. It seems like every other knife I buy has some type of thing that got past QC.

The place I ordered this knife from is out of stock now, so I guess it's going back for a refund.

I've got several Leeks, and none of the blades were warped. Exchanging it or returning it to the dealer is probably your best option.

Contact Kershaw directly to see if they can replace the blade or the entire knife. It's a defect in manufacture so they should cover it.
