Bladeforums in general is "ify." If will depend upon your workplace's unique policies.

There certainly are some parts of the site which are not work-appropriate in most workplaces.

Also, most posts are not reviewed by moderators before they go up. We have, in the past, and rarely still do, have cases where patently-work-inappropriate material has been posted. While such cases are usually reported and acted upon quickly, there is no guarantee that such material will be removed instantly.

I consider BFC to be an adult oriented site with adult discussions. As such, surf at your own risk

That rather depends on your work and the culture there. For example my work site (as many corporations) specifically wants all their little sheep to be unarmed and helpless, banning anything that might look like a weapon, including knives. I narrowly avoided a crapstorm when "the man" took a screen shot of me reading about one of our own knifemaker's models. Apparently reading about file work on knives is dangerous!

A lot depends on your workplace. If you worked for me, you'd get canned for surfing the internet on my time, regardless of what sites you were visiting, unless that is what I'd hired you to do. ;)

If you did not surf BF from work, how could your separation from work be regarded as connected to BF?

Bummer! Surfing non-work related websites during work time is basically icing on the cake when terminating someone at my place of employment. Seems pretty harsh if this was your only infraction.

bladeforums.com = bfc ---------- bladeforums.com does not equal bfc.com or bcf.com

Bladeforum has proved itself to be a worthy oppenent inside my workplace area.

I don't understand. Did you get in trouble at work because of bfc?

your right...WARNING surf bfc at your own risk!

i did not
You didn't surf bfc or you didn't heed the warning to surf at your own risk and you got in trouble?

so do not view this site from work.

You're warning others not to make the same mistake you made?

warning to the website owner :barf:

lol hardcore

Was there a particular hardcore post that got you in trouble?

When is it ever assumed that surfing websites that are clearly hobby/recreational in nature is OK at work?

I work in state government, so I've never accessed BFC, eBay or any knife or gun sites at work. First, I like my job too much to risk getting canned for goofing off. Second, I have actual work that needs to be accomplished instead.

I'm sorry if you got canned because of it, but you were basically filling out your own discharge papers for them when you accessed any recreational website on work time.

My workplace recently installed an internet filter, which blocks Blade Forums as a "weapons" related website. We are technically allowed to access the internet during break times, but apparently only sites and subjects they approve. Better than nothing I suppose.

I'm really glad I work for myself. The paychecks may not be as regular or the amounts as predictable as when I was in the corporate world but at least I don't have to put up with office politics and corporate BS.

If you want to spring $50 for a platinum membership, you get to avoid the porn. Thats how I ride. I don't need that stuff on my computer when my kids are walkin' by. I wish the whole site was PG-13, but thats not up to me.

I do appreciate Spark creating the platinum membership after he got tired of me whining about it. :)

I work at home, but I would feel relatively safe at a workplace with a platinum membership.
