Is Busse coming back?

Hello my friend! Thanks for joining BladeForums.

"Two weeks!" is an old joke in the Busse world. It could mean 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years, or never. Only Jerry knows, and he isn't talking.

$500 for a Game Warden?!?!?! Must be eBay. That's too much. If you haunt the sales forum here you should be able to get one for $300 - 350. Educate yourself; the GW came in a vast array of variants, in different thicknesses, different scale materials, etc. Some are rare, others, not so much. IMHO the only good ones are the skinny (anorexic) models, made at 0.14" thick. More common is 0.17", and they get fatter from there.

Thankyou!

Why do you prefer the skinnier ones if you don't mind me asking? Is it for sharpness? I was actually looking for the Fatty infi i really like thick knives that's why I'm also trying to buy a knife from mbb atm, I saw a fatty that was 0.27" on eBay but it was used and I'm no fan of buying used blades... i also did notice that now that you mention it when it comes to thickness & different materials.

Really? That's what I heard, I heard they had to take a break because they were so popular, is there a place I can buy their knives because for some reason I can't buy off of their site, Also one of the knives I'm talking about is the "Game Warden" knife it's up to 500$

It's been about a decade since Game Wardens were a regular production model, and even then you couldn't order them from the Busse website (they were sold in small batches from the long-defunct Busse Company Store). Still, unless it's a really special Game Warden, it shouldn't be anywhere near $500. If you do a search for "game warden" on the Exchange, you can usually find one for $300 or less.

There's a fatty little GW on eBay right now used in great condition. Current bid is $215. Its a real auction so it'll go a little higher I'm sure but not hundreds of dollars higher. As previously mentioned not a whole hell of a lot that could be wrong w it! :)

The Fatty Game Warden is a nice piece of INFI, but it's been years since they were abundantly available from the Skunk so if you have an itch for one a Gently Used is a great way to scratch that itch. There should be no fear of USED Busse they have a great Warranty...Period...Ask for photos get some history I can attest to some great Used Busse that might have cut paper and put away because I have done that myself and passed on as used. It's about full disclosure to the buyer even though it only cut paper I considered it a used blade.
There may or may not be another Game Warden production run...When 2 weeks, 2 years, who knows I certainly don't wait on the compound if I need a Busse Fix.

Lol I can agree with you on that, I just don't understand sometimes how companies make an extremely successful product and end the production of the product out of nowhere.
You don't understand the BUSSE brand.
Made in the USA by American craftsmen, producing LIMITED runs of high quality products—this is BUSSE.

Just for a moment, consider the alternative nightmare; they sell out to some corporate conglomerate that decides to move some (or all) manufacturing to China or Taiwan (see Cold Steel, SOG, etc) sure, you would always have PLENTY of inventory at great prices, but that is not what BUSSE and SWAMP RAT are all about—so let's all hope and pray they never go there.

Almost spit out my beer just thinking about this

The wait is unfortunate, but the quality is 100% of the reason why I buy Busse knives.

I'm of limited income and if I'm going to spend $500 do I want to buy 10 shit knives? 5 mediocre knives? 1 amazing, heirloom-quality blade?

If I had $20,000 to spend on knives it wouldn't matter. But I don't. Quality means something and I'll take the "well, that sucks" with the "Oh my god, this is amazing!"

I'll be honest I don't know much about how the company works but I've only heard good things, and I can completely understand that, it truly would be a shame and a nightmare if they sold out.

I'm between 2 thoughts, the tough love side says "Busses are for sale every day, if you want it buy it and in a few days it's in your hand, quit bitchin, so what, you pay a few bucks extra- tell me Einstein, how long is it before the one you can't order shows up?" - I could actually hear those words in my fathers voice in my head`
The other side of me says, "I want to fall in mad love with the chance to order one just for me exactly how I want it as Psycho Leonard while cleaning his M14 is reciting there are many others like it but this one is mine" and open that package and bring it into the world like a new daddy` ..... If you want that, you could literally knock some chick up, go through the pregnancy and become a real daddy before your next order is delivered ! As Walter said And That's the way it is ;)

Huh?

I don't think Busse knives will ever be sold out in general. Maybe a certain model will sell out quickly ie. TGLB's but on the second hand Busse sales forum there will always be knives for sale. You just have to wait for the one your after and jump on it quick because I've found that the one I'm always after ten more people also are after and beat me too it.

I just talked to Amy (first time talking to anyone at Busse), what a class act.
Extremely helpful

I laughed because my AK was already good to go for process, and I said I didn't expect it to be ready for a looooong time. She mentioned that although they often had year long wait times in the past, they're working toward remedying these turn around times.

I don't care about turn around times. Just want some knives to choose from on the site, then Ill have something to wait for/look forward to.

Sounds like the crew is all caught up. Cant wait to see all the upcoming infi offerings....hopefully within the next 2 weeks :D

Same here, not worried about wait times either. As long as there's some new blades to drool over and order :-) Busse blades are well worth the wait to me.
Now let's hope to see some new bacon :-) !!!!!!!!!
