Is Case going to make the Swayback Jack again?

I don't understand why CASE does not make some of the more popular patterns. The BARLOW, for example. I understand they dropped those in the early or mid 70's and have not made one since.

I paid for basic membership just to be able to add a 'WTB Case Swayback Jack CV' as a signature line. It was a few months before it happened, but I got a PM with an offer to buy the NIB pictured above. It's not left my pocket for over a month.

I've had thoughts of picking up that Ocean Blue bone Swayback Gent. I love the blue and the threaded bolster. I just wish it were bareheaded!

Great photos! IMHO Case needs to get serious about the quality they are producing. I think it is silly that they produce the Peanut so well and then turn out knives with edge problems, spaces between scales and liners, weak walk and talk, etc. The Swayback is just what they should be doing. All of the examples Ive seen on here are top notch.

Not true. They made a regular Barlow at least as recently as 2008 (have one in front of me right now from that year) and a single blade in stag as late as 2010. I haven't seen any made since then, though.

I hope to get a Case Canoe (CV) in stag handle one day.
Unfortunately,it seems that they prefer stainless steel and the jigged bone handles.

I stand corrected. It still makes less than zero sense why they don't have one in the lineup. The Barlow is a popular pattern, after all.

I saw that ocean blue gent on some dealer's website, really "flipped" over the threaded bolsters, and just had to have one. Only one I could find locally was in burnt amber bone with plain bolsters. I bought it because I'd rather not buy sight unseen and I'm happy with it, but if I ever get a chance to handle the blue one I won't hesitate to buy it.

I didn't realize the swayback jack was discontinued - this clearly explains why they go for high dollar on eBay ... I always liked that pattern & ponied up for an ebony single blade. I sure wish I still had that one ...

They are not discoed.. In fact.. A CV Chestnut bone is soon to arrive if not already here.. John

It's a single blade. I think they stopped calling the single blade a Gent.
Well, that's just confusing. :D
I haven't seen any current production of the Two Blade Sway Back in CV steel. :(

Hopefully this isn't out of bounds to post... I just placed an order for a single blade version after finding one in stock. It was new, chestnut bone covers, CV blade. I found it by googling the model number TB61117 CV which came from the Case website. The few places I've seen it have called it simply the Sway Back, sans the jack or gent designation.

That's good that they are producing a Sway Back in CV. Maybe some day they'll bring back the discontinued model number TB62117 CV.

I just happened to have referenced that knife in another thread today .Your newest addition:traditionals of course!
I already had one when I bought it, but I knew someone here on BF would appreciate it.
You certainly have and it makes me glad every time you post a picture of it.
