Is Elishewitz custom or production?

I own quite a few Elshewitz knives and they are all well made. Both the liner and integral locks lock up tight with no blade wobble. Now, whether they are truly "custom" knives that's another issue. He may be finishing them but with the number of pieces he produces I have to question whether he is hands-on involved in all phases of production. That said, I just acquired one of his new Neos and have no complaints. The price was right and it's a very good knife.

Mine is going back for a refund. I got a Phantom w/Ti bolsters and carbon fiber scales and the workmanship is well...not there. Here is a list of the defects:

Right side bolster not flush with liner.
Grinding marks still present on blade.
Edge bevel uneven.
Liner lock surface doesn't have full contact with the blade tang.

Not worth $450, but at least I got no qualms about giving me a refund. I can accept defects in a production knife but on a "custom" these defects are not acceptable and indicate a "rush" job.

Dear Bladeforumers:
Sorry it took so long for this reply to your messages but as Jim mentioned I have been out of town. For all of the members with comments positives and negatives, I do appreciate them. I do work very hard to make the best knives I can and at the same time offer them to you the collectors at an affordable price.
Several years ago, a rumor was started by an individual to try to hurt my image and business. That is why you hear some rumors about my quality and having employees. As I said before I have my blades heat-treated and parts laser cut from an outside source. If I was going to become semi-production or production I would not keep that a secret from the public.
My quality keeps on getting better everyday because I am not slacking. I consider myself one of the hardest working knifemaker in the industry. As far as employees are concerned, sometimes I wish I had them (!) but 2 things hold me back: I cannot rely on other people and I need to do everything myself.
I will keep on improving and offering new and better knives but I know that I cannot please everyone. I do not mind if someone returns or comments on my products. Believe it or not I evaluate each occurence to question my knifemaking.
I do not remember if I have said this in the past but I appreciate all of your support and input.
Sincerely yours,
Allen Elishewitz
