Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon (FRN) is our generic name for the material. The material is produced by different companies.

"Zytel" is Dupont's name for their FRN. To call something "Zytel" that is not in fact using Dupont's product is illegal (& deceptive).

Spyderco uses Dupont's product in addition to several others, "Grivory", etc.

We use the term FRN so as not to confuse the manufacturers.

So how does it stand up to DEET, gasoline, Coleman camp stove fuel, and so forth?

Hey Guys, I was just wondering in addition to the FRN withstanding the gasoline, deet and fire, how strong is FRN compare to stainless steel, titatium, aluminium and G-10 as handle material?
Thanks for any answers.
