Dear Everybody,

There have been a plethora of amazing offers for BUSSE KNIVES in the last month.

But I keep waiting for THE ONE.

I feel like it would be better to go home empty handed than pull the trigger on the wrong blade.

What say? Better to habe something or nothing?

Shane

Well, if you know that the "one" will come up, then wait. But if the "one" is one of those that is rare and almost never pops up, why wait.

Keep the wait for the "one!" Or put out a want ad! Ive had the same problem lately, alot of temptation but I know asoon as I get something else then what I wanted will come up for sale and Id know be broke as hell!

My experience in the past (Ganza days) has been,, that you can buy it,, handle it and see how it feels. If you don't like it, just sell it for what you paid plus shipping,, then you are ready for the next one.
The exception to that rule I guess, is that these new offerings only last a week or less,,then they're gone. So if you order one,, by the time you get it there have probably been 10 new knives offered!

I guess I would say if it doesn't really grab you,, hold out.

My experience is that I can't tell how much I will like a blade until I actually hold it. The cool thing about Busse is you can see a blade that looks great, buy it, and if it doesn't suit you, you can get your money back on the exchange.

Tough question, but I think it really depends on your situation. Is there a particular Busse knife that you really want? If so you might want to look in the exchange because the chances of them bringing the specific one you want back is very low. If you are not sure exactly what you want but you like the knife currently offered then you might as well go ahead and pull the trigger. If it's not everything you wanted once you receive it you stand a pretty good chance of making your money back if you decide to sell it.

If you know exactly what you want, the want to buy area is your friend. Tell everyone there what you want, and you shouldn't have to wait long. Otherwise I don't think you would have too much trouble getting money back on an unused blade.

There was a time when this was true.

Now, however, with a drove of well stocked, professional Busse resellers and an abundant supply being churned out by Busse Combat itself, it's not a sure thing.

I want to many to just wait for the one. Wait a minute the TGLB was the ONE, as was the Battle Saw, and the SOB.....and Someday the MBC.

BUY…BUY NOW. (If i only ever bought one i'd hold out), but feed the beast already and buy one, then stop looking at the sales until you can nearly afford another; rinse and repeat.

Wait for The One, buy it, and never look back. Otherwise, you might end up like me with literally hundreds of them.

If none of the offerings are telling your trigger, wait for what you want.
I jumped in on a couple that I thought I would like; and found that they weren't for me. Now I'm pretty much watching them go by, waiting for something to which I can't say no.

Hi Shane, I totally get this conundrum, they aren't cheap and you want the right one. I waited a while initially and when the Tank Buster came out I thought "great that's it, I got the only knife I need", but it didn't end there and rarely ends with one knife where Busse is concerned. That was six years ago and I've bought a couple per year since then, either from an offering, a ganza, the exchange, and even a trunk show.

If you see something you like, especially in INFI, get it, and just know that you will probably get a couple more in the future. If you absolutely want it to be a one knife solution for your first one, shoot for something in the 6-8 inch blade range.

Hey Timmy, Does that work? I just went over to the "Wanted to Buy: Knives" area and there are no threads at all. Do people actually go there? I've been regretting not pulling the trigger on a combat grade AMS in canvas. Figured since it was pretty recent I would see some on the exchange but no luck.

HOLY BUCKETS!

I did not think this thread would get such an awesome response.

As regards my comment about "The ONE", it seems like.
we all have our own personal Kryptonite. Some of us are hooked on long, lean wicked blades, while others prefer the ever handy, EDC style. And there are probably few of us who can not palpitations when a BIG KNIFE becomes available.

There is also the "WILD CARD" that nobody can predict, and that is Mr. Busse's tendency to reward the faithful by spreading holiday cheer with special offers and the beloved GANZAS!

Just as a for instance, I always thought the Steel Heart is a cornerstone of any BUSSE COLLECTION. Except I am not a collector, rather I use everything I buy, and if it does not work, I pass it on to friends and family. I totally missed the recent STEEL HEART run. So I will see how the season goes and if nothing else grabs me, I will find a STEELIE!

I think you need to have a paid membership at BLADEFORUMS to see the threads.
