Thanks for all the comments. After consideration, I am no longer ambivalent about it. It does grow on you and it is one dangerous SOB. I felt like I needed my Spectra vest when I was sharpening it. When my customer was handling it, I flinched every time the point got any where near me.

I like it. Personally, I think the handle would be more visually appealing if it dropped some... but if the knife's main purpose is more of a kitchen knife, then the straight handle is very fitting. Seems like he would have wanted it thinner for kitchen chores, but 0.200 is a decent compromise for kitchen work/bear killer.
I think with a little longer blade, a guard, and dropped handle, you'd have a really bad ass camp knife. I'm with Salem (except I think he made a Freudian slip! LMAO)... love that Cocobolo!
I agree with NIck about the thickness but he wanted "heavy duty". Even as thick as it is, the point is almost razor blade thin with the bevel on the top. The Cocobolo was from a block that he really liked and this is the third knife I have made for him using material from that block. I love steady customers.
