Last Friday I was hoping to get into the shop. Saturday I turn up sick. Finally get better. Me and Fido get tangled last night and I fall down; not good.

Today is like, "Ow," but I finally made it down into the shop working on a little wood carving. That knife is a hopeful start for tomorrow.

Things are looking up!

How's your weekend shaping up?

Glad to here you got a little time in the shop. I hope you feel up to doing it again tomorrow. I was hoping to get in the shop tomorrow but i have to work at my real job and flash in some windows. Then drive 300 miles on sunday to pick up my daughter so there will not be a lot of shop time for me.

Think you need to move the shop to the living room Fitzo....take those stairs out of the equation :) Hope you feel up to it again tomorrow.

I'm finally gonna get some shop time in. Material we've been needing for a job at work won't show up until monday, so we get the weekend off. Still have stalls to clean and stuff to catch up on, but I started on some christmas stuff tonight hope to get more done tomorrow.

Having a fire in the fireplace right now... hope to relax a bit tonight.

Worked my buns off wrestling with a zero ground tanto... thought I was in the final lap for the bevel, but now I'm not so sure. Going to let it ride with where it's at, epoxy the green canvas micarta to it for handles, and see where it leads.

Micarta stinks like hell when you grind it.

I've managed to get a little shop time just about every night this week, so I'm taking the night off tonight since I haven't really been getting any sleep this week. Tomorrow I'm back into the shop to work on some Christmas ornaments to trade at the Blacksmith Guild's Christmas party tomorrow night. Sunday is the big knife show in Timonium, MD so I'll be down there and hopefully meeting up with some other forumites.

So, final roll-call for the show Sunday?

Phenolic laminates give off phenol and formaldehyde when you grind it, Matt. Be careful.

Coming out of the daze and haze...

NOW you tell me!

j/k

I knew that... made sure the ventilation fan was on, as well as the dust collection system. Pretty nasty stuff, though... makes me think an outdoor area would be nice. Of course, it was 12 degrees this morn when I woke up!

Well I missed the Friday thread, so a day late and a dollar short:

Going to work on some cabinets for the bathroom, and go rabbit hunting.

The weather sucks to work outside on the smithy. Got BBBB Beaver coming over today to grind blades on my rotary platen. I guess I just have to drink some beer and cook up Marinated Sirloin Tips on a skewer for lunch and drink more beer.:D :D :D

Went to the store this morning and on the way saw a spike buck .Since it's minimum 6 points here ,he knew he was perfectly safe !!! Never looking in my direction , he walked very slowly across the road !!

Sloooowwwly making progress up at the barn. A neighbor gave us a few 50 ft rolls of refrig trailer liner to weatherize a bit. Doesnt do much for insulation, but it cuts the wind.

Used the backhoe to level out the floor. That thing is a lifesaver.

I have fun just watching the deer totally ignore all the activity up there.

I live in Alabama and it got down to 16 degrees last night. My shop is heated and air conditioned, but it's a cold walk this morning. I hate the weatherman and his ugly mama today. I have a handle that needs to be finished.

man its cold.......20 in the shop but with a little karoseen heater I got it to about 60 in no time.
Got my handle material drilled for 7 knives..............and yes MARK...one is for you!! Well Deb anyway:D

I'm cooking Beef Slew for my sweety and the rugrat and carpet critters. After that Its off to the shop to make a new damascus pattern.

Hey Del,

Do you use the old school method of cooking beef stew, or are you a crock pot cooker?
