  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Is it here yet?

Well at least you wouldn't have to schedule your purchases around a friend or relative who is coming home from abroad :(
My brother has been bugging me about us getting a bk-9 for each. But so far nobody here is willing to handle that sort of order.
I saw a guy selling Izula kits here for almost thrice the price! Will try and broach the idea of ordering BK&T stuff from him and learn his pricing. But the situation here is a PITA :grumpy:

Even with all that waiting, you guys are still very very very fortunate

Sorry to hear its so hard to acquire Beckers where you are. I bet you really appreciate them when you get them though. :)

Have you tried ordering from ebay? Might be worth checking out.

Yes B. Mauser, it was like christmas morning when I opened the box! I really owe my friend for that.
The situation here is that knives are not allowed to be shipped (but I think its different for businesses dealing with sharps) here. It's listed as a weapon and even worse customs are imo very arbitrary in this situation, what they say goes. I think its one of the reasons why the guy who got me my 2nd bk-11 wont go bigger than the bk-11 (hoping for tweeners!). Maybe theres more to evil bay and that river store. I'll check them out.

To the OP, I hope its there now or soon! and pics too! For a while I wanted the 12 too!

The micarta slabs are awesome on the 12. Gives it a much more solid feel than the factory grivory did. And I'm loving my BK14 :)

That looks beautiful man! Besides the grippier texture of the micarta how is the feel of the knife now? Did you have to adjust brass studs inside the handle?

It definitely feels more "solid" with the micarta than with the grivory. The stock grivory was very sturdy, but was hollow on the inside, you could sort of sense that in your hand when you picked it up. The micarta has a very substantial feel to it which I like a lot.

In regards to the brass plugs in the handle, they had to be removed when the micarta was installed. The plugs are thicker than the tang of the knife, and as such do not sit flush with the tang. Since the micarta is not hollowed out like the grivory, you'd have to drill out some small divots in the micarta to accommodate the plugs. That said, with the micarta installed there is no reason to have the plugs. The micarta handles are somewhat heavier than the grivory, so the balance is about the same with the micarta and no plugs as the grivory with plugs.

The BK12 with micarta really is a joy to hold. Makes you look around the room and realize how many things look like they need cutting :)
