Is it just me or is Spyderco getting better and better.

When the military and Starmate were available I thought the G10 was too thin. I now have a Yojimbo, with the same style of handle, but the G10 isn't too thin. It also isn't too thick. Good job, Spyderco!

But to be fair to Benchmade, their gold class knives kind of go unanswered among production knives.

I've got two words for you, William Henry!;)

With all due respect, YOU ARE SO WRONG, IMO!!!!!
William Henry has jacked up their prices so much you can't touch one for under $500. Sorry, that's just not the kind of money I want to spend on a knife. I have no doubt of their quality, and I know their knives are better now than ever, but they dropped all of their less expensive models. It's just.....

Ok, re-read what Artfully Martial said, and then re-read what I said in response. Got it yet? In what price range are BM's "gold class" offerings? In what price range are the bulk of William Henry's offerings? Got it yet? Is Benchmade a production company? Is William Henry a production company? Got it yet?

FYI, There's a lot to be said for actually reading what has been said before posting what you just shouted, "YOU ARE SO WRONG, IMO!!!!!" If you still feel that I am wrong, please explain why.

Best wishes,

They're getting better. Better steel, innovative designs. Just look at the evolution of the endura and delica.

I'll also never buy a knife that doesn't have a thumb hole. I dislike studs.

I am very new to a knife hobby. I have one BM and three Spydercos, SAK, Emerson.
I like axis lock a lot, but all Benchmades I want to buy are discontinued and a lot, much more than I can afford spydercos are available and I want them. This is my current situation.

I don't know about "getting better", since Spyderco puts so much thought and innovation into their knives; I don't see that any improvement is actually in order! I've been carrying the same Spyderco for ten years(Endura SS PE) without ever feeling the need to replace it, but I have to say that their newer offerings are eating a big hole out of my wallet! :D

i used to like benchmade more, but i prefer spydercos g10 more than bm's. I also like the steels spyderco uses and how sharp they come to you NIB, sharper than BM in my opinion.
