Is it legal to have auto knives in your Home, in the city of St. Paul MN

According to the most current MN Statute i can find. I'd havta say no.
It doesnt specify about having them in your house, only that possesion of them is illegal.

Section 609.66. Dangerous weapons.
Subdivision 1.
Acts prohibited. Whoever does any of the following is
guilty of a crime... (4) manufactures, transfers, or
possesses metal knuckles or a switch blade knife opening
automatically; or
(5) possesses any other dangerous article or substance
for the purpose of being used unlawfully as a weapon
against another...
 
There's no case law of a person being tried for switchblade-in-house that I can find.

I'd have to say if you have cops rooting through your stuff, things have gone royally t***-up already and it'll be the least of your worries.
 
You can legally own a switch blade in MN as a collector.

Subdivision 2. Exceptions. Nothing in this section
prohibits the possession of the articles mentioned by
museums or collectors of art or for other lawful purposes
of public exhibition.

However carrying one around as a edc is not legal and a bad ideal that will get you in trouble.

As for transporting, you should have them cased and in the trunk or behind the seat of a pick up.

No card needed and if you own more then a few knives you could make a heck of a case for being a collector.

Another option would be to join the North Star Blade Collectors Club, that would pretty much squash any doubts of a collector status. A plus to that is they have monthly meetings where fellow collectors lay out some of there collection and do show and tell, maybe a little trading here and there too. I'm not a member of the club but have dealt with members in the past and have done a small seminar / show and tell in years past, good people.:)
