• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Is it normal...

With at least some knives, it's definitely possible. I wouldn't like to call it 'normal', as it shouldn't happen in a quality knife. But, I've seen this in some of my knives with screwed pivots (including Spyderco and Benchmade), in which the pivot screw/nut can come loose with repeated openings/closings. Most pivot screws & nuts should be loctited in place from the factory, but sometimes they aren't, or they otherwise don't hold.

It could be normal, OwE got it right, there's also the plumbers tape if you don't want to wait for the loctite to cure.

Yeah my Spyderco Endura 4 and Manix 2 both developed some side to side play that I noticed recently. I think I will pick up some loctite thanks guys.

This happened to my 556 mini grip a few (3) hours after I got it...The pivot was sticking out of the handle about 2mm.

Clean out the nut portion of the pivot assembly, wipe a SMALL amount into the screw threads and carefully assemble it while testing the blade by opening and closing it. Too Much will cause problems.
Let it stand untouched for a few minutes while it sets up.
