Is it our duty to produce knife people?

I don't see any duty to produce knife people, but I feel that those of us who carry and use knives should set a example of proper use. Others may learn by our example, not by our proselytizing. Some ideas on this:

Let others see you open folding knives carefully and not in an intimidating manner.

Let others see you clean a knife after use, sharpen it after use and put it away clean and dry.

Let others see you store a knife so that it will not be damaged and will not injure others accidentally.

Let others see that have a knife when it is needed, but do not ostentatiously carry a blade.

Let others ask questions about the knives they see and answer questions courteously, without too much technical jargon.

Lead by example, practice attraction rather than promotion, be a good citizen, follow the Golden Rule and all of those
other concepts. Does anyone else have suggestions? :)

No. Those who get it, get it. Those who don't, never ever will. Imho better to let the lobbying groups like knife rights do the heavy lifting.....All we have to do is help them by donations and volunteering if needed and using out tools properly and safely.

Beg to disagree. What make the politicians (who are the ones that make the laws) to listen is numbers. The more people commited to preserve the basic liberties, the better. Money is important, but numbers (as in voters), is more important. You just need to look to the money that people like George Soros invest in the abolition of the Second Ammenment, to realize that voters, not money, make the real difference. If we make the mistake of thinking that with a donation, our job is done, then those with more money are going to dictate what we can or can't do.
