Is it possible to find a Persian anymore?

Update!

Jason Lee connected me with a fellow over on JerzeeDevil who is interested in selling his Persian. I'm completing the transaction now, and with any luck I'll have my long-sought after Persian some time next week! Joyous rapture!
 
good for you, hope ya enjoy the thing, they are good knives, i have had several P-tacs and still have a ECA P-tac i got a lonnnggg time ago soon after they came out,

imho the P-tac would not look as good with a wave, it would ruin the lines, i've always thought the same about the '6 and the '8, but to each his own i suppose.

as far as numbers, dont have a clue as to the std P-tacs, IIRC they made ~120 ECA P-tacs (mine is 117 or 119 IIRC), IIRC they made ~ 5 of the fixed blades (or so i heard).

I think it would be possible to add a wave-style opener without compromising the form of the Persian.

If I were the knife's designer, I would widen the thumb-disc a bit and raise it off of the blade so it has room to snag a pocket seam. This would allow it to remain flush with the blade's curves, but still give it enough breadth to make a quick draw possible.

If I can find a second P-Tac, I'll begin work on customizing it. Or who knows - maybe Emerson is working on a new version of the Persian for its next run, and it will incorporate a modified wave opener.

Where did you find that fellow who did the frame lock modification? I might go to him if he's still around and taking work requests.

My Persian frame lock was done by a member here called STR, but unfortunately it seems he is jumping out the frame lock game. :(

It wouldn't hurt to ask but I have seen of late that he is knocking back frame lock work requests.

Shame. Well, in any case, be on the look out for another Persian! I plan on getting into the modding game myself if I can't find a good craftsman, and I need to have a spare upon which I can conduct my Frankenstein experiments. :)
