is it possible to wear out an assisted opener?

from what i understand metal fatigues under repeated cycles and not from being kept under tension so if you open and close it enought times, it will fail. that being said, i doubt you will wear it out from playing with it. I think you'll get bored before it breaks.

So I gotta ask, did you wear it out from playing with it, or did you get bored first?

lol i sit there doing it for hours on end...when i cant sleep and im up all night till like 5 or 6 i just sit there and flip it over and over again

I wore out an older Kershaw Chive over about a 3 year period of hard and steady usage I'm sure Kershaw would fix it however I haven't carried the knife in at least a couple of years and it still cuts so I'm not too unhappy.
