You know each project can be different. The rules of thumb that Dick mentioned resonate well with me. Haebbie's question I could not answer as it is not hard to get something laser etched outside this factory. There are not that many places that do the chemical etch/gold plating nor the full through laser cutting.
Many folks can swap out handles. The real warranty difficulty I have is when someone takes a $50 knife and puts a few hundred dollars of customization into it and then breaks the blade. I hate those.
We try to make those right but every so often we just have to say sorry, that was not covered...
