Is Knife Making Safe?

All good advice. Remember to keep that box of bandaids on the shelf. You are gonna nick and burn your fingers some. It just happens. Also superglue works well to fix small cuts so you can still work and not bleed all over your knife. DO NOT use the accelerator though. Dang that burns!

There are inherent dangers to practically anything! For all you young guns who think you are bullet proof.

Take it from an "ole fart" you ain't! You will eventually pay for all your sins with age. Protect your lungs, your eyes and your ears, and everything else in between! I use to do construction. I have been lucky with my eyes they are finally succumbed to age, but not before going several times to have steel picked from them. The last time finally convinced me to wear safety glasses any time there is a chance of getting something in my eyes!

My hearing is shot to many years of running high pitched tools with no hearing protection. When it gone it's gone and it ain't coming back, I know you couldn't hear me either so I will say it again, "when it gone it's gone and it ain't coming back"! Believe me it's not fun having to go through life asking someone to repeat themselves! When I started doing construction back in the late sixties and early seventies small companies had no policy for hearing protection!

As for my lungs I have been lucky because I have been exposed to several different carcinogenic's over the years in the construction field and I use to smoke. This year I got a scare when they said they found something on my lungs after going for a chest x-ray when I had a cold I could not seem to get rid of. It turned out to be just scar tissue from my heart bypass!

So take it from an ole fart and take the precautions while you are young because, you ain't bullet proof, it might not bite you right away but, it can and will bite you if you don't take the proper precautions.

Taking the time to take the proper precaution's means the difference between just being out there doing something and having a long life and not losing or damaging any body parts while becoming a successful knife maker!

So is it safe? My question was is walking safe. Let me tell you a true story mind you! A Just recently a guy walked off the curb at a street light right into the path of an oncoming car was hit and killed. Why? was texting and not paying attention to what he was really doing, walking! Think about it!

I was more concerned about the affect the dust has on your lungs but that was a pretty detailed tip lol :D
