im interested in getting a few livesay knives, however i remember that there was a period were no one was receiveing ANYTHING from the guy.

I stumbled across shadowtech knives which id never heard of before (im on a handmade shiv kick) and it rekindled my intrest in livesay's knives.

i tried to find more info and i even used the oft neglected search function located in the upper right hand corner, but to no avail.

if anyone has any info about the current state of livesay knives it would be much appreciated. P.S dude needs to update his website, its kinda schizophrenic looking (which was my first warning)

Thank you Esav, your word is good enough for me. Ill give an up and coming knife making group like shadow tech my money and support instead of throwing it to a thief.

I believe Mr. Livesay even burned his own daughter & SIL when they stepped-up to help relaunch Newt's business. They got buried taking-on the outstanding orders that Newt had taken money for in the past.

I emailed him about 2 NRGS neckers, got back an email with a wrong total amount, replied and he said it was the wrong amount but he never sent a corrected amount. An internet search revealed a lot of negative information.

Lee's Cutlery stocks some of Newt's knives. That is where my NRGS came from.

I know of three "come backs" by Newt, all of which ended badly.

Why would anyone still want to trust the guy?

If you really want anything of his, buy in the aftermarket, or from a reputable blade merchant that stocks his stuff. Don't send money directly to Newt.

I got a Company knife in the mail from Mr. Livesay today. This is my second transaction and it may have taken a while but he has come through on the two knives I have ordered from him. I still have 2 of his SOP model on order and I am confident that he will come through for me.

Newt is a bad mofo IMHO. But - Its hard to understand whats going on with him in online or in person.
I'm pretty sure his website was made by a drunken puzzle master around 1995, or maybe he
just wanted a vintage, autistic, tribute to broken / under construction page links. He's a rascally character -
you never know if he's going to tell you war stories or field dress you.

If anyone here really needs a blade from him, I could pass the message along. The knives I got from him
are pretty brutal. Well worth the effort.

As Mr. Livesay does not have the proper membership level to do business on this site, you passing him messages from here probably isn't a good idea and could result in both of you getting banned.

Whoa - I really didn't have any intention of facilitating any actual binding escrow transaction Karda. Its my first day, first post, I obviously didn't read the fine print. My mistake.
