Is SAK a state of mind?

It is however, my state of mind

T tiguy7 I know it isn't, but the top right Wenger Ti looks like a Wenger knuckleduster 😂

It's funny as just yesterday I was thinking, hey, why has nobody ever converted a SAK to automatic? It would just be kind of cool, maybe with a single-blade model like the Florist... I wouldn't even need a lock on the thing. Wonder if it is possible.

For me at least, SAK has two sweet spots. Classic/Rambler (keychain always there models) and the Compact. Not out in the workforce anymore so these meet the necessaries. The Compact's teensy screwdriver in the corkscrew and the pressurized pen just put it in a more practical world than any other knife I own.

I have yet to find a problem that could not be solved with the sufficient application of money.

That Wenger is a mountaineer model designed by Ueli Steck a famous climber. The main blade is for rope work, is one handed, and locks open. The square button releases the blade. The hex holes in the blade are snowboard wrenches. The file will sharpen crampons and ice axes. The cap lifter and can opener help with Camp 4, Mt. Everest kitchen chores. Ueli died on Nuptse in 2017.View attachment 1930748

I'll admit I could probably "get by" these days with just a SAK (but which one?)
That’s easy…the Hercules lol
If pure usefulness (and bulk wasn’t a factor), was the deciding factor, it’d be the last one in my collection I’d get rid of.

I love my Sak Farmer but … just wish they would make the main blade of at least S30V steel. It just needs sharpening way too often to be an edc for me
