Is Sebenza 21 now considered hard to find?

They have some cult following, because they are supposed to be the last ones that the man himself designed & built (with team of course).

Got one a month ago (because I had to try) in my favorite config (large, micarta inlays, Insigno). It's nice and very smooth, but obviously uses older steel. Not sure if it's better than my 31. $525 from the Exchange, like new, which I considered fair, not crazy. Similar price to a new 31.

Hope that helps.
Not accurate on the Chris involvement. Chris also did the 25, which didn't sell well, and the Inkosi, which was an outgrowth of the 25, and has sold very well. The Inkosi is technically the last model released with Chris at the helm. As I understand it, he still consults, and is in favor of the changes made to the 31.

Yes, 21s are becoming more and more sought after(in my opinion) but they do come up for sale regularly here in all types of conditions. I’ve seen them as low as $500(+\-) for user models and probably $650-$1500 for new or like new condition depending on how rare the specific knife may be and if it has all the original items.

Was talking about the Sebenzas only, as per thread title comparing 21 to 31. Myself, I can't decide if the Inkosi or the Zaan are my favorites.

IMO - you can't go wrong with any of the CRK folders 21/31, Inkosi, Zaan

I'm a newbie compared to most on this forum and I picked up a very nice 21 from Kettleman when he was around simply due to the fact that Nice 21's at a fair price will be harder and harder to find.

I have a couple of 31's and as others have said the 31 is a solid knife as well.

Less is more. 2012 birthday, zero play, drop shut, flicks open, lockup still at 45 %. Steel is on the soft side by today’s standards, I can keep it shaving with ceramic rods though.

21’s are definitely a little more difficult to obtain the past few years ( for realistic prices anyway ).

I'm growing quite fond of it as I'm using it .... DOB 2015.
