Is selling to a 15 y.o. safe?

As a 15 year old at heart I am offended by this.
Its a vastly different generation than most of us were raised in. I am not stereotyping ALL of this generation but there is a lack of common sense, responsibility, respect and reality in the majority I have been associated with. The teen in question may be different. It a whole different world. As a parent, I would be PISSED if my teen were provided a knife w/o my consent ... but that's just me. I am not sure what laws are regarding it but I would lean more on the side of being safe rather than sorry. I assume other opinions may differ from my own.

I would ask his parents and if they are okay with it; I am.
My Nephew was about 15 or younger I gave him a switch blade.

I’ve thought about putting some of my cheap knives out in a yard sale a few times, but I didn’t want to deal with worrying about carding somebody if they tried to buy one.

I read that as....
Just putting my cheap knives out in the yard.
Haha

Yeah. I just picture you there standing at the kitchen counter with Chris Hansen. Knife in question in one hand, and that glass of lemonade he offered you in the other as the camera crew rolls out…

To the OP....

You aren't just selling to a minor.
But ALL their associates YOU are now responsible for..... His dirtball friend borrows it and something happens...
Obviously his parents aren't responsible, legally You supplied it to the minor(s)

No!

To the OP.

We know nothing about you or the 15 y.o.

Letting people drive at age of 16 and vote at the age of 18 is dangerous enough. We don't need more threats out there.

Sell'em some Girl Scout Cookies instead.

Thanks for the responses! Humility is something to embrace and learn from. I’ll let the poor kid down but that’s how life goes.

Side note: when I was 15 (35 years ago) I finally saved up 30.00 and sent in to Edge Company, who sold switchblades mail order and disassembled. I guess it was a loophole in the law. Never received it. Some local kids stole it, opened the package and dumped the contents. I was devastated. Not really relevant but I know the feeling of wanting something and so close to having it. Anyway…

Maybe a dumb question? A 15 year old wants to trade a pen and cash for a full size Microtech Stitch I have. I have bought many knives secondary but selling is pretty new to me. Part of me (big part) doesn’t see anything wrong with doing so. The other part of me feels it’s not my place, not knowing him or how he’s been raised. I don’t believe there’s any laws forbidding it, nor do I believe there should be. Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on this. Thanks for reading!
Parents are in prison for allowing their children access to weapons after the kids went on a rampage. I'm not saying this kid will, but if he does, you're probably going to be responsible. Even if the courts don't come for you, how does CNN and Fox News in your front yard sound?
If the pen is worth that...

Nobody is going on a rampage.
That’s a very small % of people that go crazy let alone they would have to be a psychopath.

A knife wouldn’t do it, there are knives in the kitchen anyhow.
Doesn’t make sense. Most of us carried since we were like 7 or 9 ( I did) different generation or not.

Shrug

Yeah but who's gonna bring an old janky kitchen knife to school to show his friends, vs a fancy Microtech? And that's all it would take...

I grew up in a different era, but I would have to say that absent parental permission...not a good idea. And also, not a good idea to argue here, as someone somewhere will look to point a finger at this site.

Know the law, speak to the parents, let prudence be your guide.
