Is SowBelly Sunday A Thing

Less than three hours till Sunday here... close enough.
I love Sowbellys, don't know how I missed this thread, my favorites are the single blades.

Seems like more than one is definitely most common, but I sure hope Case brings back the single blade sowbelly sometime soon.
Three years ago I read somewhere that Case was discontinuing the single blade sowbelly, so I found one online and ordered it. Great knife, very slim and feels good in pocket and hand, yellow Delrin and CV steel. The blade has taken on a nice patina.

Notice how the nail nick on the Sheepfoot blade of the knives has been reversed. On the early 2002 Sowbelly, the nail nick is on the pile side while on the later 2020 Sowbelly, the nail nick is on the mark side. The Sheepfoot blade on the 2002 Sowbelly has a very severe, crinked blade while the Sheepfoot blade on the 2020 Sowbelly is less so. I believe this was done because on the early Sowbelly knives, the clip blade was heavily scratched when opened by contact between the Clip blade and Sheepfoot blade.

The first version of the Case/Bose collaboration knives were sent to the Case vault in July of 2008. When they came out of the vault in July 2011, the blade configuration above had been changed to what is on the Case Sowbelly today.

Here are some of my favorite sowbellies. It is a preferred pattern of mine.

Three Charlie Bells, in vintage black paper micarta, red cross-cut linen, and European red deer stag. The stag one is gorgeous; it is probably my favorite. The black paper is very slender and light, so that one is also used frequently.

Here is another one from Charlie. A two blade with Sambar stag handles. It is a beauty, but it's a pretty chunky knife.

And a couple of GEC 88s...

I have a few others, but they are packed away and I don't have any photos handy.

I missed Sunday by a day, but here's a few... as you may notice, I modify these a bit, to make them more comfortable in hand. The sheepfoot gets rounded a bit and lowered a bit, and the spey gets rounded into almost a big pen shape.... nothing outrageous, but it makes them way more ergonomic, at least to me.

The Case stag, CV steel....

and the yeller CV one....

and a plain white bone one CV....

and, finally, the curly oak one in TruSharp....

Sowbelly Sunday brought back to life, short search found this thread and it was nice seeing those that posted their photos.

An older Case CV model with a nice shield. I thinned down the blade on the clip point and also took scotchbrite to the bolsters and shield to clean up the carry marks, as I didn't make them so they had no history to me ;)

Augies Sowbelly.jpegAugie started this thread with the above Case knife!! The Sowbelly doesn't get the attention it deserves - It is such a great knife design!!! The curved handle gives you extra control and grip, and the curve protects the tip of the main blade easily, no matter how worn the blade gets to be!!! And it can easily hold 5 blades!!
They are all nice, but I prefer the single-spring models, whether One or Two blades, because they are the most pocketable!! Long Live The 'Belly!!Sow Red TB 2.jpgSow Red TB 1.jpg
