I recall him saying he was taking orders several months ago but haven't seen anyone post any pics of his handiwork, so I was wondering if he stopped again:confused:

Have a couple I might send in to him if he's working on stuff again.

I have 3 difft sheaths he made for me and all are top notch! Here's one:

If the world was a just place Terry would be a millionare cause I'll tell you he is one solid gold good person IMHO.

I've been looking at your work since I joined, Terry. Sorry to hear I won't see any more. Hope everything is OK. I love the shape of HD's sheath. I was thinking of doing one that opened toward the front, but I see now that it would cut the strap that way. So many options now I've started to mess with leather.

That does open in the front. the edge is to the rear and the sheath is open down to about the bend on the front.

Right I should have used edge, and away from the edge. Sorry for the confusion.

Question though...Wouldn't the "front" of a scabbard be variable depending which side you wear it on?

Not if it's a proper right or left hand scabbard. When made properly the front side would still be the spine side. Using either in a cross draw would negate that though. ;)

I sure like the smaller size of the scabbard without the extra knives. I like the tradition of the extra knives, but the practicality of them I seriously doubt. I keep a good pocket knife on me at all times (bulldog cattleman), and can't see the reason to have extra thickness/bulkiness in the sheath area. However, being a southerner, I am steeped in tradition, and that is why I made a couple of kardas and chakmas.

I can't see that when I'm done there will be much difference in shape from the scabbard below, even though I'm making a sheath. Terry, is that offensive to you. I won't make one if that is your design and you don't approve.
