Is the 3V Cold Steel kukri worth the money?

I keep a Cold Steel kukri Plus in my camping pack. I had the old expensive San Mai III, but it was too heavy. How much better is the 3V version?

To me the blade steel is secondary to the weak handle and sheath design. If they want a premium price it should be for something with a nice leather or kydex sheath and a solid micarta/g10 handle.

I have a 3v. made well in Taiwan....but also very heavy. can't imagine it any less heavy than a san mai one.......

I suspect the new 3v will be as heavy because it is over 1/4" thick like the San mai. They have the cheap versions that are thinner and lighter. That may be the way to go.
