Is the AD15 to gimmicky?

the drop point voyager is more practical and cheaper, similar blade shape, i actually sold my ad15 when i got the drop point voyager
 
I had an AD 15, and loved that knife. Mine was a joy to use and very smooth. Your worries are unwarranted, in my opinion
