Is the CF/ZDP Caly3 a limited run?

I'm looking to get one around Christmas, but I heard a rumor somewhere that I may want to snatch one up while I can.

Its not a "sprint run" and as far as I know they are still making them, just not in the same numbers as the usual suspects.

The CF/ZDP version of the Caly 3 is what Spyderco refers to as a "Limited Production" model. That means that only a maximum of n units a month can be produced, but that production will continue as long as demand warrants it. IIRC, in the case of the Caly 3 the max is around 200 units per month, but I could be wrong on that.

The supply of that model seems to ebb and flow. When I first decided I wanted one I didn't see one for a reasonable price for about 6 months. I would just keep an eye out and you may run into a lightly used one for cheaper than normal re-sale.

As Dan Barnes mentioned, production is limited to a relatively small number per month, so supplies will tend to fluctuate. It's not a question of "now or never", as it would be with a Sprint Run, but there's no guarantee it will be in stock at a specific point in time. So if it's in stock now but you don't buy it, it's possible you may not get one until after Christmas.
