Is the Cold Steel Luzon (medium) a bad knife?

Well "bearings" does explain the flipping action, especially on the Large. Didn't take either of mine apart to clean them, but I did find that a bit of oil on the pivot helped the action considerably, especially on the medium.

I don't use knives for self defense. But with the secondary lock engaged, I think I would trust either one for that. As far as I can determine, the blade stop consists of the thumb studs hitting the liners, so I would not want to use either the Medium or the Large for chopping.

Much of what makes Cold Steel worth buying over others, is the Tri-ad and Atlas lock systems , IMO .

I like CS because they remind me of the low budget 80s action movies of my childhood. Inexpensive and entertaining.
