Is the era of multiple blades knife over?

Richard has expressed a key point about knife ownership in general.
There are way more common slipjoint knives sold daily that there
ever will be tactical one hand wonder knives. The fact that we here
at the forums represent a very small percent of the knife buying
public is important in that like gun owners we need to act and
speak responsibly about our hobby as WE represent our hobby
to the rest of the public. How they view our hobby can be dertimed
by how sane we present it. That is why the slipjoint multi blade knife
deserves a place here at the forums.

Don't forget that the basic 4 blade scout/utility knife, with spearpoint blade, awl, screwdriver/caplifter, and can opener has been around for a hundred years or thereabouts and the sportsman multiblades for even longer. Tool knives are a type of multiblade and are probably the most popular knife among the public. Heck, every guy in Montana seems to have a multitool on his belt (the women seem to carry them in their packs).
